Who we are
Three Apes, established in 2022, is an independent coffee shop owned by siblings Anna, Mike, and James O'Riordan.
With over 30 years in pubs, restaurants, and specialty coffee shops between us, both in Cork and London, we have brought together everything we believe makes for a great hospitality experience in Three Apes.
Creating a space for everyone, where we can provide consistently delicious coffee and warm, organic hospitality is our purpose. We want to become a part of the communities where we're based, so that whether you're meeting a friend for a chat, dashing for a fix before work, or just fancy escaping the world with a book for an hour, Three Apes is the first place that comes to mind.
To round it off we use only the best produce and machinery. On the bar you'll find coffee by South-West's best; Curious Roo Coffee Roasters, and milk by Estate Dairy, brought to life with Victoria Arduino and Mahlkonig grinders, and our custom three-group La Marzocco Linea PB. For treats, look no further than our delicious, simple selection supplied by Lockdown Bakery!
Why the name?
The first part is simple; we're three (of four) siblings.
The second part indicates our desire to be more than just a coffee shop. Anna (who you'll see day-to-day on the shop floor doing the real work) has a Degree in Zoology and a Masters in Primatology Conservation.
We hope that in time we can start to give back, as a company, to the charities and organisations doing such wonderful work conserving ape (and other animal) populations across the world.
So there you have it, a funny name, with a serious meaning!
